"Intenta Respetar" por Carlos Baute

¡Hola a todos!

Trataba de traducir las letras de una canción de Carlos Baute, pero creo que hice mal la traducción de una estrofa. Aquí está:

No estás siendo razonable

No sé lo que te ha ocurrido

Vas jugando al tiro al blanco con el que se te atraviese

Sin haberle conocido

Creía que significaba:

You're not being reasonable

I don't know what has happened to you

You're playing target shooting with he who cuts you off

Without having met him

¡Yo no entiendo para nada qué significa la tercera línea! ¿Es que me pueden explicar su significado, por favor?

¡Gracias!

I like your post because I am very familiar with the circumstances.

I just watched the video. Although the message of this song is perfectly applicable to any situation of intolerance, Carlos Baute’s words are particularly directed against the Venezuelan government. What does the third line mean? In addition to what polenta says, I think it means that any intolerant person attacks anyone who get in his way (anyone who “es diferente…que piensa algo distinto”, such as the beginning of the song says).

I have no clear idea how to translate that line. Do these make sense?:

You play target shooting against (or with) anyone who gets in your way.

You use anyone who gets in your way as target of your shots.

Dijiste que conoces las circunstancias. ¿De dónde eres? - KRavishankar19, May 4, 2017
Soy compatriota de Carlos Baute. ¿Te gusta su música? ¿O es una tarea la traducción? - 003d2d9c, May 5, 2017
¡Me encanta su música! Soy muy fan. Traduje la canción para mi blog (que es una tarea, pero para la clase de inglés). - KRavishankar19, May 5, 2017

"Tiro al blanco" is like a sport called darts in English I guess but instead of darts you shoot bullets. It's like the person criticized (you) is playing with people instead of being reasonable and trying to know him/her. In general you are at a distance of an aim and around it you have concentric circles. The closer you hit the aim, the better you are at this sport . This is called "tiro al blanco".
As for "el que se te atraviese" it would mean whoever passes by near you or whoever is near you, or whoever walks past you etc.

"Sin conocerlo" would be without knowing him/her . Conocer could be "meet" or "know". In this case it's "know".
