What sort of an accent do I have?

I have quite a number of influences regarding the way I speak Spanish, and I never exactly attempted to develop a certain accent (eg. Mexican), so any feedback on how I can improve, and general overview of what I sound like would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a recital of one of the first poems I learn in Spanish: Vocaroo

Su pronunciación y sobretodo su ritmo me recuerdan mucho al italiano. - 000a35ff, Apr 29, 2017

You have an accent. You probably studied some kind of Latin American Spanish because I can't hear the Z sound they have in Spain. Almost at the end you say "dejaron" and the pronunciation of the J is similar to an English H so this happens many times in Central America or Venezuela etc.

What is true is that you don't sound like an American speaking Spanish. It sounds more like someone from somewhere in Europe. Don't ask me where.

Congratulations anyway for trying so much.

I think your pronunciation is very good. I hear a Castilian accent. I think if you work on trying to achieve a natural flow of your sentences it will improve the overall presentation. Another thing woud be to regulate the tone. - 00ee547c, Apr 29, 2017
Thanks Lindy I shall certainly work on that . - ray76, Apr 29, 2017
Your Z's are like in Spain. The R is quite good. Once you pronounced the V in "vida" with an English V. Remember it shouldn't be. Also remember that unlike English, we pronounce every syllable in Spanish - polenta1, Apr 29, 2017
I don't remember which words but in at least two occasions (one could be privilegio) you kind of shortened the word as you do with unstressed syllables in English. Apart from that I like your voice Ray. - polenta1, Apr 29, 2017
What I meant is that you should pay more attention with long words where there are many syllables. Don't forget to pronounce every syllable it has very distinctively. - polenta1, Apr 29, 2017
Dont give up. Your source is European Spanish. You need fluency and other details... some time in Spain, if possible, could make the difference. - Raff75, Apr 29, 2017
Thanks guys I have no intention og giving up and will try again tomorrow. - ray76, Apr 29, 2017
Have a vote amigo. - ian-hill, Apr 29, 2017
Have another vote. I still think you sound like an Italian trying to pronounce peninsular Spanish. - Daniela2041, Apr 29, 2017

A mí me parece un español (castellano) pronunciado por estadounidense o canadiense. También me parecee "practicado" con poca naturaleza. Aun así es completamente entendible.

Hi, andio.

You sound like an English speaking American who is speaking Spanish. There is no presence of some sounds which are typically found in the European Spanish so maybe your source is Latin America. Congratulations for your success in learning Spanish. Keep going!

I've had a go, but find the Vocaroo site a bit difficult to manoeuvre, so maybe my link will not work: http://vocaroo.com/i/s0awKyrPv59B

Please let me know if you were able to hear this!

I could listen to it. American??? Quite understandable. You pronounce almost all the syllables,. Only one thing I could say:: The S in " presencia" is not pronounced like an English Z but as an S. Congratulations. Keep working. - polenta1, Apr 30, 2017
You pronounce the G in página for example like we do and not like they do in much of Central America, Cuba, Venezuela and the like.Maybe from Mexico or part of South America etc. - polenta1, Apr 30, 2017
Gracias. Soy Inglesa y tengo 74 años. Sigo aprendiendo! Me has animado - margarita1943, Apr 30, 2017
