A Mexican friend was saying that they often use ¿Adonde estas? if they want to ask about the location of something more specifically. He was saying that he would use* donde estas* in a broader and more general question about location, whereas he would use adonde estas to ask about more specifical information.
So in this instance the specific location is only known after the fact,
therefore it would still be"Donde estás ". am I correct ?
