How would you say "Check that" in Spanish?

Hi, everyone!

There is an English phrase "check that" that is used to make a correction. It is used after the incorrect sentence preceding the correction.

Example: We're going to need five chairs for tonight. Check that, get seven.

Is there an equivalent to "check that" in Spanish?

There isn't a exact translation for that, but you can use one of these options:

• consigue tres sillas, espera, mejor consigue 5. [get three chairs, wait, better get 5]
• consigue tres sillas, no, mejor 5. ([get three chairs, no, better five
• consigue tres sillas, no, mejor 5. Por si acaso. [get three chairs, no, better 5. Just in case

In a class I would say something like:

Verificar .....................

I would use the infinitive for a command or order because I don't know if the teacher would use "tú" or " usted". If not " verifica" if the teacher uses "tú" or "verifique" if the teacher uses "usted". Anyway, "verificar" is my favorite. The verb verificar, as you may imagine, means verify.

If it is a news presenter or the like they usually say:

Mejor dicho.
or Debí decir
or

Perdón

Example:
El presidente Obama, debí decir, el presidente Trump está de gira por diversos países.
