Is it ok to say ¿Les escribiste a sus padres también? or do I need to change les to los?

You wrote them a letter so "les" is the correct option. if you use "los" then you wrote on their bodies.

If you're saying "Did you write to YOUR parents?" then it should be

¿Les escribiste a tus padres también?

"Les escribiste a sus padres también?" You are asking if he/she wrote to their parents too. You wrote something to a specific person, and someone ask you if you wrote to their parents too.
