How do people in Ecuador say car? My family is from there and I'm trying to learn how they speak Spanish to understand what they are saying.

Hello, I don't think we have any active Ecuadorean members currently.
Here is a good reference for you, you can find the correct regional words for Ecuador for quite a number of things at this site.
If you scroll down a bit to the automobile section you will find:
Ecuador--- carro, automóvil

The word carro is used mostly in México and Central América I think. In Spain and South America it is more AUTO, automóvil or coche I think.

In Mexico "coche" is most common, we also say "auto". "Carro" is a train car - 005faa61, Apr 2, 2017
