Hello Everybody! Welcome to the Picture of the Day! This is a game where you can all practice your Spanish and English, but still have fun at the same time! Post your comments/titles/captions to this picture (both in Spanish and English) and vote for the responses you like. The best answer will be chosen soon on the basis of the answer I feel is the best, the fact that the person has corrected their post and possibly the number of votes. Pon tu comentario/ título/ pie de foto a esta im! agen (ambos en español y inglés) y vota por las respuestas que te gusten. La mejor respuesta será seleccionada cuando pueda, tanto por la cantidad de votos como por la corrección en el uso del idioma. Please, give everyone a chance and only post more or less one caption and no photos. Por favor, deja que todos tengan una oportunidad y pon más o menos una respuesta, sin fotos. . Please encourage everyone with a vote. . .Please help each other with your English/Spanish sentences. And above all, have fun.

Amber: there is a noun for wannabe in Spanish = aspirante (aspirant) Or you could say "A Mary Poppins la quiero ser." = Quiero ser a Mary Poppins. = I want to be Mary Poppins. Soy una aspirante de Mary Poppins is a 3rd choice. - DilKen, Mar 25, 2017
Or maybe your version is just funnier even if lacking the grammatically required inclusion of "a" and "la" to refer to the direct object with a sentence structure like this. :) - DilKen, Mar 25, 2017
I wonder if it should be aspirante A (not de) Mary Poppins based on a sample sentence I viewed under aspirante in the SD dictionary. Those "in between" words are so tricky. - Sassette, Mar 25, 2017
Muchas gracias amigos. :):) - rac1, Mar 25, 2017

¡No manejes mis hilos!

Don't pull my strings!

To pull [someone's/something's] strings" is an idiom, meaning to control someone/something (often secretly), as with a marionette.

Debería haber construido mi casa del árbol más cerca de un fuente de electricidad para no haber tenido que convertir mi bicicleta en un generador de poder.

I should have built my tree house closer to a source of electricity so as to not have had to convert my bicycle into a power generator.

Mantenemos la bici de ejercicio aquí abajo (sonríe) en "el sótano".

We keep the exercise bike down here (he smiles) in "the basement."

¿Ha alguien visto una bandada de monos voladores por aquí?

Has anyone seen a flock of flying monkeys around here?

Me parece que este hombre se comporta en esta casa de árbol con su bicicleta cómo una ardilla en su rueda.

It seems to me that this man behaves in this tree house with his bicycle like a squirrel on his wheel.

Sé que hay una escalera allí, pero así es como los chicos chidos lo están haciendo.

I know there is a ladder over there, but this is how the cool kids are doing it.
