There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speakers suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

We could see the island's heavenly beaches from the plane.

2: Pasamos la noche en un pueblito paradisíaco en la Riviera Maya.

We spent the night in a paradisiacal little village on the Mayan Riviera.

Aunque hay opiniones diferentes sobre lo que constituiría un lugar paradisíaco, por lo menos algunos parecen estar de acuerdos con el individuo en la foto de Jellonz. Ojalá que pudiera encontrar la viñeta de "Frank and Ernest" que vi hace mucho en la que un esquimal le dice a un pastor con anhelo "dime otra vez sobre las llamas eternas" .

Even though there are different opinions about what constitutes a heavenly place, at least some seem to be in agreement with the individual in Jellonz's photo. I wish I were able to find the "Frank and Ernest"cartoon that I saw once long ago in which an Eskimo says to a pastor longingly "tell me again about the eternal flames".

Looking at your photo the pig may be on to something. Especially if those are mojitos I can spy :) - jellonz, Mar 23, 2017
Or maybe margaritas? - jellonz, Mar 23, 2017
Hopefully you are right, and they are not those healthy green drinks my wife gets. :) - bosquederoble, Mar 23, 2017
Yes, that would take the shine off the mud bath idea :) - jellonz, Mar 23, 2017
I don't think that would be my cup of tea. jejeje - rac1, Mar 23, 2017
Bosque: a couple of things which are probably optional: esquimal LE dice a, and dígame instead of dime since he is talking to a pastor. - DilKen, Mar 23, 2017
I missed the "le", thanks. I agree the other is a choice. :) - bosquederoble, Mar 23, 2017
I think that they probably have a better rock band in hell :-)! - Jraider, Mar 23, 2017

Los lugares paradisíacos son generalmente sitios turísticos , ¿pero no sabemos si ellos son tan paradisíacos para la población original también?

The paradisiacal places are usually tourist sites, but do we know if they are so paradisiacal for the original population as well?

La idea de un paradisíaco lugar no es la misma para todos.

Not everyone has the same idea of a heavenly place.

¿Y si no te gusta la arpa? Entonces el cielo no es tan paradisíaco.

And if you don´t like the harp? Then heaven isn´t so heavenly.

For me it's hugging a Smurf. By the way, one step closer to Las Vegas for your team. Ugh! The Raiders belong in Oakland! And worse yet, another possible dome stadium. I like football to be played outside. - Sassette, Mar 23, 2017
It's good for you too. :) - rac1, Mar 23, 2017

On the Equator , but fed by a cool mountain stream , just watch for water snakes , those little fish eat your dead skin if you let your legs rest in the water. - ray76, Mar 23, 2017
Well I thought it superb until you mentioned snakes...I'll pass on that one and just enjoy the view. :) - rac1, Mar 23, 2017
Snakes keep away from you , most of our deaths from snakes occur in their own back gardens . - ray76, Mar 23, 2017
You're very fortunate mate :-)! - Jraider, Mar 23, 2017

Acabo de regresar del estado paradisíaco de Florida, pero por desgracia, yo estaba allí para trabajo, no el placer.

I have just returned from the heavenly state of Florida, but alas, I was there for work not pleasure.
