Welcome to SpanishDict. You must use proper capitalization and punctuation here. We are a language learning site. - rac1, Mar 16, 2017
welcome, of course the man sailing the ocean in 1492 is known as Cristóbal Colón in Spanish - Mardle, Mar 16, 2017

Here is Spanish number generator.

http://www.spanish411.net/Spanish-Number-Translator.asp

mil cuatrocientos noventa y dos

Years in Spanish are said as the number:

1492 would be not be said as the equivalent of fourteen ninety-two. Rather one thousand four hundred ninety-two

See this link;

Writing and saying a specific year in Spanish is different than in English. For example the year 1986 in English is spoken "nineteen eighty-six". In Spanish you would say "mill novecientos ochenta y seis" or literally "one thousand nine hundreds eighty and six."

Vote from me. I misread the question and I was about say El año que viene...:) - DilKen, Mar 16, 2017
It didn't help that she had a typo and wrote is instead of in:)) - DilKen, Mar 16, 2017
Another way to WRITE it in Spanish would be 1492:) (And a lot more common) - DilKen, Mar 16, 2017
True, yes there is a typo that makes the interpretation of what is wanted somewhat confusing. I have answered questions then read the question again and realized I had not answered the question that was asked. :) - bosquederoble, Mar 16, 2017
