"Hold" as a noun et. al.
How do you say in Spanish "Hold", as in the cargo area of a ship? I don't see that in SD.
Also, had a new furnace installed yesterday. I was going through the programmable thermostat manual. There is a setting called "Hold". That setting maintains ("holds") the currently set temperature regardless of the programmed settings. How do you say that in Spanish? What part of speech is it? Is it a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc.? None of those seem to be correct in my mind.

I can only answer part 1:

bodega (de carga)
- (on a boat or plane)
a. hold
Almacenaron todo el equipaje en la bodega. They stored all of the luggage in the hold.

hold n (ship: storage area) bodega nf
The dry food was kept down in the hold.
Los alimentos secos se guardan en la bodega del barco. hold,
cargo holdn (plane: cargo storage) bodega de carga grupo nom
Pets travel in crates in the hold.
For the second:
Pausa - seems more like a pause in operation rather than hold at current setting
Mantenimiento- I don't know if that would be more a maintenance as is upkeep than maintain current setting.
Mantener? Mantenimiento?
I don't know if I should put this as a comment to Bosquederoble's answer, or if it's better to post it as an answer. It might be that my new thermostat is bilingual. That just occured to me. I will definitely check it out. That should give the definitive answer because "Hold" shows up on the screen when I override the programming. I presume the same if I have bilingual capabilities.
