You need to be at least 13 years old to join our site. - rac1, Feb 28, 2017

Look here and here.

In my personal experience, those numbers are low. I've been studying pretty hard now for four years, and I would call my Spanish passably functional. But you have the advantage of being young. Work hard at it now, before it gets a lot harder.

Ok thank you i take spanish in school 4 out of seven day for 45 min but its not like im gonna be fluent by the end of the year - 504mking, Feb 28, 2017
Why don't you set a goal for yourself. You could be fluent by that time if you really really wanted to learn it. Why don't you try to be fluent in 2 or 3 years and make it a goal. - k_nelson, Mar 2, 2017

It depends on how often you study and if you are working to be fluent.

It doesn't matter what age you are. Babies can learn Spanish when they are very young. If you keep at it and are very committed you will be able to speak it in no time at all. I bet if you tried really hard you could learn pretty fluently in around three years.

I started at ten. At that age they can do it much quicker than adults. I became pretty fluent in English after about two years, and believe me, English pronunciation is H A R D! - Daniela2041, Feb 28, 2017
Yeah, I agree. I have been trying to learn Spanish for a couple of years, though when I was younger I didn't really care though it goes really quickly when you are younger. Even my sister who is two years younger than me has a much easier time learning - k_nelson, Feb 28, 2017
Spanish. Then my sister who is 7 years younger than me has gotten pretty good at sign language within just a month or so. Of course, she is not fluent or anything, though she can remember WAY more than than I ever could in that time.Age is a large factor. - k_nelson, Feb 28, 2017
