"Vamos a ver"

I recently went to Costa Rica and I heard this phrase a bunch of times. I know that it means 'We are going to see' or 'Let's see', but I was wondering if there was an equivalent in English.

Gracias

It really depends on the context of the conversation.

In answer to a question: Vamos a ver. (Possibility that we will look into the matter).

In answer to a question: Ya verémos. (We probably will not look into the matter).

At the beginning of a statement or question: A ver, ................. (Let´s see, .....).

Let's see is the equivalent form of vamos a ver.

I have also heard "vamos a ver" used for "we'll see," although more commonly I hear "Ya veremos." - jtaniel, Feb 22, 2017
