"Mujer florero"
In the recent court case in Palma, the examining magistrate Juez Castro, commented witheringly that the court had obviously considered the Infanta Cristina, sister of the King of Spain to be a "mujer florero."
El juez José Castro ha valorado en declaraciones a EL MUNDO el fallo del tribunal de la Audiencia de Palma. "La sentencia deja un montón de incógnitas, pero deja claro que da por bueno que la Infanta Cristina era una mujer florero".
I am keen to find an exact (sic) translation into English.
The following text from some years ago using the same expression:
Afganistán es uno de los pocos países donde defendería la existencia de mujeres florero, o sea, mujeres que ocupan cargos que no sirven para nada, y donde se las tiene para cubrir el expediente y poder decir que se cuenta con ellas. Es lo que ocurre, por ejemplo, en el Parlamento afgano, donde hay 68 diputadas –el número mínimo que marca la Constitución-, pero tienen poco poder de decisión y encima deben soportar las groserías de sus colegas parlamentarios, que a veces las insultan e incluso las tildan de prostitutas.
...would I believe be readily and accurately translated as "token woman" yet I do feel that this latter translation does not seem to encompass the sense, still less the vehemence of el Juez Castro.
¿ Any suggestions ?

SWMBO, which google tells me means "She who must be obeyed" doesn't make the cut for me given its essentially jocose/ whimsical tone.
Whilst trophy wife/ bimbo/airhead all score very well for me and are much better than my own tentative offering given the aggressively pejorative tone of all of them.
But of the 3, the 1st obviously wins out in view of the double meaning of wife/ woman in the Spanish word mujer.

Whereas, in terms of the obiter dicta.... All I can say is that whilst I am indeed anxiously looking forward to living in this modern more enlightened world, I am not currently holding my breath on the matter.

As the words suggests , the woman is a "flower arrangement" nothing more.
A " mujer florero " is a woman that is regarded as a trophy wife whose main aim
is to cook and clean and love her man. A bimbo , an airhead.
I do not think that this term is good in our modern more enlightened world.
