Past tenses with mientras

Hello

I'm writing this post, because I'd like to know how, when and with which tense we should use word mientras

Is this sentence okay?

Vivía aquí mientras estaba en Londres

But we can't use 'mientras' plus imperfecto, when we have specified time frames, right?

Viví aquí cuando estuve en Londres por la primera vez

Am I right?

Thanks

Thanks, that is what I thought, I just wasn't confident enough to answer. :) - bosquederoble, Jan 26, 2017
With most adverbs and adverbial phrases that show action in the past, it's usually "imperfect" even in English. - Daniela2041, Jan 27, 2017
