Tener = to have
Obtener = to obtain, get
Obtuve = I obtained, gained, got etc

I forgot the conjugation: first person singular
yo obtuve
tu obtuviste
él obtuvo
nosotros obtuvimos
vosotros obtuvistéis
ellos obtuvieron

"get" in de past, from de verb "obtener", it's not very common. Better "conseguir".
