-Lo suffix
Does -lo work as a suffix? For example
El león vio el ratón, estaba en el punto de devorar
Would devorar have -lo at the end to make devorarlo? Does devorarlo make any sense in Spanish?

Estoy de acuerdo con la respuesta de juaner menos lo de "al ratón." En este caso el ratón es sólo algo de comer para el león y nada familiar o sea, "El león vio el ratón" es correcto.
"lo" is an object pronoun so we use it in Spanish the same way you would do it in English, being "lo" for singular masculine nouns, "los" for plural masculine nouns, "la" for singular feminine nouns and "las" for plural feminine nouns. So if you translated the sentence into English it would be something like that: The lion saw the mouse, he was about to eat it, as you can see you need to add the pronoun object in English so in Spanish you would also have to add it: El león vio al ratón, estaba a punto de devorarlo. The bold words are the mistakes you have made and I have corrected. The first mistake is that in Spanish we say "ver a alguien" and not "ver alguien" so what you woud have to have written is "El león vio a el ratón" but when "a" is followed by "el" it transforms into "al" that's why I've written "El león vio al ratón". And your second mistake is that the translation into Spanish of "be about to do something" is "estar a punto de hacer algo" rather than "estar en el punto de hacer algo".
