You will have one week to complete this assignment. When you are ready to submit it, go to the "Explore Submission" link located in your calendar one week from today.

Using Spanish resources as much as possible, research a famous historical figure from a Spanish-speaking country. You may consider finding information on Miguel Hidalgo, Simón Bolívar, José de San Martín, Benito Juarez or Ferdinand and Isabel. In 1-2 well-developed English or Spanish paragraphs, write a brief biography and then describe his/her important contributions. In addition, explain this person's significance in the country where he/she is from.

You will be graded on (1) evidence of research conducted, (2) appropriateness of response, and (3) overall quality of your response. (20 points)

You may use outside sources (Internet, books, magazines, etc.) to gather information for this assignment. However, be sure not to copy the information directly from those sources. Copying information and presenting it as your own work is considered plagiarism and will result in a failing grade. You will need to rephrase the information into your own words and cite the source of the information you used.

If we write this for you, which I don't think will happen, and you copy it, it will still be considered plagiarism and obviously cheating.

I'm looking at this from my view as a university Spanish teacher and a former high school teacher. When I give an assignment I expect the student to do it. Yes, get the facts from as many sources as possible, but you must put it together yourself.

What we can do is this. If you write the assignment in English or Spanish, we will be happy to "get the bugs out." I'm referring to spelling and grammar. We will not totally rewrite it for you, putting it into a "professional" style but there are both English and Spanish scholars on the site that will help with the technicalities of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Buena suerte.

Well said, but I think you meant English and Spanish rather than or. Thank you for the help you provide all of us. :) - bosquederoble, Jan 9, 2017
The assignment said the student could write an assignment in either language. Both were not necessary for the assignment. - Daniela2041, Jan 9, 2017
