What are a few greetings in Spanish that you could use around young friends that you know? (slang terms) or is that an inappropriate question...

Wouldn't "hasta manzana" translate to "until apple"? - AnnRon, Jan 18, 2017
Ummmm. That's "Hasta mañana", james. - Daniela2041, Jan 18, 2017
The first are not exactly greetings, even when corrected. - bosquederoble, Jan 19, 2017
In Spanish we call them "despedidas." - Daniela2041, Jan 19, 2017

You can always start with "Buenos días", "Buenas tardes" "Buenas noches"

To which you can follow up with:

Or start with "¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? or ¿Qué tal? In Mexico you hear "Qué onda?"

To say Good bye, or see you later, you can use"

¡Hasta luego/pronto/mañana, etc.!

¡Nos vemos, or even simply ¡Chau!

"Adios" is heard alone or some times in combination. As is: "¡Adiós-hasta mañana!" (which is a little illogical, but who cares?)

These are just a few which are pretty universal. The graphic below shows more of the colloquial sayings as well as "proper" ones.
