Does "No Quiero Que" Require Subjunctive

Does "No Quiero Que" Require Subjunctive

I am correcting a sentence to determine if the verb should be indicativo or subjuntivo but it uses the phrase no quiero que and I was wondering if that requires subjunctive? The sentence is "Pero no quiero que mi mamá se enoje y me grite durante todo un día." should se enoje and me grite be indicative since it is no quiero instead of quiero? Thank you!

Anytime you ask someone to do something, or to not do it, it requires the subjunctive.

Yes, you should use the subjunctive, since you do not want somebody (else) to do something. This is similar to the verb "esperar" - we can say "Espero que llueve" or "No espero que llueve," since you wish for some(thing) else to do something - in this case, to rain. Also, if you check out this article on SpanishDict: http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/100055/subjunctive#.WGqGoPnhCUk, you'll see that the first element of a subjunctive sentence is having two different subjects - in your sentence, the subjects being yourself and your mother.

Hope this helped!
