There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

No empecé el día con el propósito de escribir sobre esto, pero el mensaje de Sassette en este hilo me recordó que ya no puedo ir a una cierta cervecería que cambió su menú y quitó la "burger" que mi esposa cree que era el mejor Reuben que nunca había tomado, y ahora ella quiere boicotear la taberna.

I did not start the day with the intention of writing about this, but the post by Sassette on this thread reminded me that I can no longer go to a certain brewpub that changed their menu and removed the "burger" that my wife things thinks was the best Reuben that she had ever had, and now she wants to boycott the place.

Typo: "thinks".. It makes you wonder why they stop selling things we love. I know how she feels. - rac1, Dec 31, 2016

The meat was smoked corned beef, but the bun was not right so they didn't call it a Reuben, but while they were making it my wife would not go elsewhere and I got good beer. :) - bosquederoble, Jan 1, 2017

Muchas personas tienen propósitos de Año Nuevo de ir al gimnasio, pero preferiría ir a Arby's para comer Reuben sándwiches.

Many people have New Years's resolutions to go to the health club, but I would prefer to go to Arby's to eat Reuben sandwiches.
