Acostumbrarse

I was reading a book where I came across with this sentence below :
Hablas como si estuvieras acostumbrada a toparte con tipos como yo.
So, I wanted to rewrite this sentence with the verb "acostumbrarse".
Which one would be more appropriate amongst the two below?
- Hablas como si te acostumbraras a toparte con tipos como yo.
- Hablas como si te hubieras acostumbrado a toparte con tipos como yo.
I don't know why but for some reason the first one doesn't sound me well which is why I wanted ask you guys.

In both senteces there is a mistake. The first one would be: Hablas como si acostumbraras a toparte con tipos como yo. The subject of the verb "toparse" is "tú", that's why you have to use toparte instead of toparse. You would use toparse if the subject were "èl" or "ella". Another mistake here is that you have written "si te acostumbraras" instead of just "si acostumbraras". Both constructions doesn't mean the same. If you write "Hablas como si te acostumbraras" you are saying that "You talk like you get used to meet guys like me" and what you really mean is that "You talk like you usally meet guys like me". And the second one would be: Hablas como si te hubieras acostumbrado a toparte con tipos como yo. Here you make the same mistake with the verb toparse, usind the third person instead of the second person.
the author`s sentence is wrong because he is mixing the informal forms (hablas, estuvieras) with the formal form (toparse)
the correct sentences would be.
Habla como si estuviera acostumbrada a toparse con tipos como yo.
or
Hablas como si estuvieras acostumbrada a toparte con tipos como yo.
the fist sentence is wrong. in this sentence you must concordate the form usted or tu and omit the "te"because acostumbrar use the pronoun in a past time or in the present continous.
yo acostumbro (tengo la costumbre de) a leer el periódico mientras desayuno.
ME estoy acostumbrando a leer el periódico..........
ME acostumbré a leer el periódico mientras desayunaba.

you have inherit the author´s mistake in your second sentence, but it would be ok correcting this mistake.

Me es difícil expresarlo en español, por lo que en Inglés me resulta imposible.
La razón por la que no se puede utilizar el pronombre en tu primer ejemplo es porque debes usar la forma no reflexiva del verbo. Y¿ a que se debe ésto?. Pues a que el sentido de tu frase es de que ella tiene esa costumbre ya adquirida o la esta adquiriendo.es decir se acostumbr? en el pasado o se está acostumbrando sin saber cuando empez? a acostumbrarse nI cuando terminarå de acostumbrarse.
Acostumbrarse a algo ,lleva tiempo. No es algo que se pueda hacer ahora, en un segundo, en una hora (a no ser que lo acotes en un período de tiempo. Ejemplo: me he acostumbrado en sólo un minuto)
Acostumbrar sin embargo tiene el sentido de: "tener la costumbre de. Tener el hábito de " ,ya adquirido.
Acostumbrar puede ser sustituido por soler.
Acostumbrarse NO puede ser sustituido por soler.

En tu ejemplo después de UN AÑO viviendo en el desierto te acostumbras al calor..
