Negating a Verb

I know that in order to negate a verb in Spanish you can use the word "no." For example, "Yo no leo" means "I do not read".Could I say "Yo no hago leer" to say I do not read or would that be incorrect?

I would add that if you said "yo no hago leer" the listener would be left waiting for more information because you could say "yo no hago leer a los niños" meaning "I don't make the children read"

That would be incorrect. To say "I do not read" you would simply say "no leo" or "yo no leo"

In some places you could give a similar meaning by saying "no hago lectura" the word lectura being a noun meaning "reading"
