llamarada ( yah-mah-rah'-doh )

noun ( sudden blaze, flare-up; outburst )

There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Mi esposa quiere que yo ponga la hoguera que tenemos en el patio aún más lejos de la casa, porque teme que una llamarada del fuego incendie la casa algún día.

My wife wants me to put the fire pit that we have on our patio even farther from the house, because she fears that a sudden flare-up is going to light our house on fire some day.

You can see in the second picture the deck I took the first picture, and the Japanese maple (that is a tree in a pot on the deck, not in the background, it is not a marijuana plant). - bosquederoble, Dec 3, 2016
You cansee how the second floor of the house hands over the patio, the second picture is an older arrangement of the furniture that put the firepit closer to the house, but my wife wants me to make a brick base in the grass for it. :) - bosquederoble, Dec 3, 2016
Lol, I know you don't have weed growing at your house. I do agree with your wife on making a brick base. :) - rac1, Dec 3, 2016
Lol. A brick base would help. - Nickelbackfan1, Dec 3, 2016

Suddenly there was a 'flare up' in a street in Mexico when two young gang leaders of opposing gangs started to argue about territorial rights and then Carlos accused Pedro of stealing his girlfriend and sleeping with her!

Corrijan mi español si es necesario, por favor smile

Some of them are just like that. The success is hard for some to handle. - rac1, Dec 4, 2016
John McEnroe used to be like that ..its amazing that the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) put up with his antics for so long ...if he had not been so talented in his tennis, he would not have got away with it! - FELIZ77, Dec 4, 2016
