Phrasal verb D O N E.

Phrasal verb D O N E.

Phrasal verbs form a major part of the English language. They really do not exist in Spanish. They cause learners of Spanish and English problems.

Los verbos compuestos forman una parte importante del idioma Inglés. La verdad es que no existe en español.

Causan problemas los alumnos de español e Inglés.

A phrasal verb (multi-word verb) is a verb + a preposition (usually) that creates a meaning that is different from the original verb.

The problem is that out of context it can be impossible to know what they mean.

El problema es que fuera de contexto puede ser imposible saber lo que significan.

This challenge is to use the adverb D O N E in a phrasal verb.

Example: (done in)

That's done me in, lifting all those boxes.

Llevar todas esas cajas me ha dejado molido..

tired

This is the previous challenge.

Just a thing: "verbos compuestos" is a completely different topic in Spanish. They could be taken as "expresiones idiomáticas." - Oshnaj, Dec 2, 2016

She has done away with all reminders of him, as she is done with him.

Ella ha eliminado todos los recuerdos de él, porque está harta de él.

José was only 50 and was going out with a girl half his age but couldn't work out why some neighbours were making (kicking up) such a fuss!

José solo tenía 50 años y salía con una chica que tenía la mitad de su edad pero no lograba entender por qué algunos vecinos armaraban un escándolo (o montaban un número)!

Corrijan mi español si es necesario, por favor smile
