There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

A crowd of shoppers invaded the shopping mall.

2: La muchedumbre esperando el tren no dejó salir a los pasajeros que se querían bajar.

The throng awaiting the train didn't allow the passengers inside to get off.

Los sustantivos en español que terminan en -umbre suelen ser femeninos. Algunos ejemplos de sustantivos femeninos que terminan en -umbre son: • La costumbre (el hábito) • La legumbre (la leguminosa) Precaución: también hay nombres masculinos que terminan en -umbre, por ejemplo: • El alumbre (el alumbre) • El deslumbre (el deslumbrante)

A little lesson

Spanish nouns ending in -umbre are usually feminine. Some examples of feminine nouns ending in -umbre are: • La costumbre (the habit) • La legumbre (the legume)

Caution: there are also masculine nouns ending in -umbre, e.g.: • El alumbre (the alum) • El deslumbre (the dazzling)

Debido a que no me gustan ni un poco las muchedumbres, la palabra española “muchedumbre” siempre me recuerda las palabras inglesas “much” y “dumb”. Parece que no soy la única persona que no tiene buena opinión de las muchedumbres.

Because I don’t like crowds at all, the Spanish word “muchedumbre” always reminds me of the English words “much” and “dumb”. It seems that I am not the only person that does not have a good opinion of crowds.

It may be hard not to follow the crowd down a path of familiarity, but sometimes it's good to break away and follow down the path of the unknown. There can be many great adventures and gifts awaiting you.
