Hi, we were supposed to write a blog post about something. I'm still pretty unsure about when to use Imperfecto and when to use Indefinido. I'd be very grateful if you'd correct my text!

¡Hola amigos!

Espero que tus vacaciones fueron tan buena como mía. Estuve en la Ciudad de México. Tuve un tiempo bueno. Hice muchas cosas diferentes. Uno de ellos fue comer mucho. ¡Me encanta comida méxicana!

"visité museos" Am I supposed to use Imperfecto or Indefinido on this one? Because visiting museums was an action that happened repeatedly?

English translation:

Hello guys! I hope that your vacation was as good as mine. I was in Mexico City. I had a great time. I did many different things. One of them was eating a lot. I love Mexican food! I was eating tacos, tortillas, enchiladas and much more. Plus, I met many nice people. Today I'm still in contact with a few of them. They help me with my Spanish. My friends and I went out many times and had a lot of fun. I even visited museums and I enjoyed them very much which is weird because museums usually bore me. I was sad when I had to leave. I will definitely go back!

¡Hola amigos!

Espero que tus vacaciones fueran tan buenas como las mías. Estuve en la Ciudad de México y me lo pasé a todo dar. Hice muchas cosas diferentes. Me ayudan con mi español. Mis amigos y yo salíamos muchas veces y teníamos mucha diversíon. Aún visité museos y los disfruté lo cual es raro porque usualmente los museos me aburren. (Your use of imperfect and preterite is good. About the sadness, it would sound more natural to say "Me puse triste ...." but you are still grammatically correct. Visiting museos wasn´t so much habitual as eating, even though they were various, so preterite is OK).

Hola Julian. I'm having trouble breaking down "me lo pasé a todo dar." Can it be done, or Is it just idiomatic? Gracias. - jellonz, Nov 24, 2016
The original phrase is "pasar un buen rato" (to have a good time) That get's shortened down to "(me) lo pasé bien." "a todo dar" --is like "full speed ahead" or something like with great gusto, or similar. It's very idiomatic when all put together means - Daniela2041, Nov 25, 2016

welcome to the forum. I am reluctant to correct as I still sometimes get the wrong tense. For example you use imperfect not just for repeated actions in the past, but also as he narrative. It can encourage native Spanish speakers if you add an English translation as you have marked your level as fluent. The first sentence espero que introduces the subjunctive if you hope your friend has had a good holiday but if you mean it in a more certain way, your tense is correct. If you are beginner your teacher will not expect you to use the subjunctive. I will have a go at correcting if you don't get an answer. Today is a family holiday in the USA so there may be fewer visits t the forum.
