There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

Examples:

1: Mi papá siempre atiborra el pavo de relleno.

My dad always crams the turkey with stuffing.

2: Por favor, abuelita, no atiborres los niños de pay.

Please, Grandma, don't stuff the kids full of pie.

Después de que ella se atiborró con el pavo, tuvo que tomar una larga siesta.

After she stuffed herself with turkey, she had to take a long nap.

En el Día de Acción de Gracias, nos atiborramos con muchas comidas insalubres.

On Thanksgiving Day, we stuffed ourselves with many unhealthy foods.Imagen

Hay una receta muy vieja que tiene una paloma rellena en un pato entonces

en un ganso y los tres rellenos abarrotados en un cisne y tostado.

Varios pájaros diferentes abarrotados en uno más grande, por ejemplo.

There is a very old recipe that has a pigeon stuffed into a duck then

into a goose and the three fillings crammed into a swan and roasted.

Several different birds crammed into one larger, for example.

Cada día de acción de gracias me atiborro del relleno. Es mi alimento preferido para el día de fiesta.

Every Thanksgiving I pig out on stuffing. It's my favorite food for the holiday.

Thanks for correction, mstivers smile

Photo of stuffing I made for Thanksgiving. I bake in shallow Corningware dish because I like the top of stuffing the best so I get more of the top. :) - Sassette, Nov 24, 2016
When I make stuffing there is nothing hydrogenated and no palm oil. That's why I don't make the packaged stuff...not that I eat healthy :) - Sassette, Nov 24, 2016
Have a great holiday Sassette :-)! - Jraider, Nov 24, 2016
The transgender stuff...it's an inside joke. I spend a lot of Thanksgivings with friends that have no tolerance for people of diversity. So while Thanksgiving is meant for accepting one another that doesn't really happen with some people. - Sassette, Nov 24, 2016
Thanks for the recipe. It looks delicious! We love you here. ♥ - rac1, Nov 24, 2016
Wouldn't it be "me atiborro"? - mstivers, Nov 25, 2016
I feel the love, Ambette :) - Sassette, Nov 25, 2016

Antes las amas de casa en los pueblos atiborraban los gansos, para obtener gran hígados, que pasaban por golosinas. Ahora lo es prohibido, por que esta operación es considerado como maltrato de animales.

Before the housewives in the villages stuffed the geese, to obtain great livers, that passed for delicacies. Now it is prohibited, because this operation is considered as mistreatment of animals.

Tuvimos que atiborrar el coche de una de mi hijas con mesas, sillas, un pavo y otras cosas para ir juntos a la casa de la otra hija, quien vive a una distancia de dos horas, para celebrar el Día de Acción de Gracias. Pero valió la pena, la única cosa de la que soy responsable es preparar los coles de bruselas en salsa de rábano picante.

We had cram one of my daughters’ cars full of tables, chairs, a turkey and other things in order to go together to the house of the other daughter, who lives two hours away, in order to celebrate Thanksgiving Day. But it was worth it, the only thing that I am responsible for is to make the brussel sprouts in horseradish sauce.

Me too please! I'll trade my recipe for brussels sprouts with bacon and maple syrup. - AnnRon, Nov 25, 2016
Ann, please send me that one. :) - rac1, Nov 25, 2016
I love brussel sprouts but I probably would not have liked the spicy horseradish sauce. - Sassette, Nov 25, 2016

Esta noche voy a atiborrar mi maleta. Parece que siempre te vas con mas cosas de las que has venido.

Tonight I will stuff my luggage. It seems like you always leave with more stuff than you came with.
