Does Puerto Rican Spanish use the term "Abuelita" differently?

I was just wondering if some words or usages will be different if the person is raised in Puerto Rico versus Mexico or another country. Are there differences in Spanish based on the location it's spoken? Do Puerto Ricans use the term abuelita or should I write abuela? Thank you

Your guess is correct that Spanish differs a little bit from country to country, region to region. However, I am sure that Puerto Ricans understand "abuelita" very well. (They don't use it differently.)
