Cristiano had some luck
Hello
I bumped into a very interesting sentence. Cristiano had some luck, but he played an incredible match
How to say it in Spanish?
Cristiano tuvo suerte, pero jugó un partido increible Would you use here tuvo, or tenia?
The match is finished, so I guess the preterit matches perfectly here. What do you think?
Thanks

Cristiano tuvo algo de suerte, pero jugó un partido increible.
I agree that preterite should be used for tener because it applies only to the match and not to time during the match that another action may have occurred.
