There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. For the Spanish sentences, edit your posts according to the native Spanish speaker's suggestions. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Please keep political, religious or personal statements to a minimum. This is a practice game.

1: ¿Viste esa señal? Creo que los vientos arreciarán.

Did you see that sign? I think the wind is going to get stronger.

If the snow gets worse, I'm going to pull over to the side of the road.

Me da miedo que el cambio climático va a arreciar a menos que todos los paises trabajen juntos para limitar los efectos.

I am afraid that climate change will get worse unless all the countries work together to limit the effects.

Actually , they have a scientifuc reason why it does , it is because of the factories and cars building up during the working week which blocks the sun by the weekend , something like that . - ray76, Nov 11, 2016

A medida que la tormenta ha arreciado esta mañana, mi perro se me ha despertado a la hora para dormir y los sueños porque se ha dado miedo y también se ha hecho un gran ruido. íQué horror! Desde 1 hasta 4.30 no he podido dormir nada. Sin embargo, ahora mientras estoy escribiendo en "spanishdict.com" mi perro está durmiendo a mis pies.

As the storm intensified this morning, my dog woke me up in the hour for sleeping and dreams because he was afraid and also he made a big noise. Horrible! From 1a.m to 4.30a.m. I couldn't sleep at all. However, now while I am writing in "spanishdict.com" my dog is sleeping at my feet.

If the wind gets any stronger, we can take the train instead of walking.

My anger started to intensify after I saw Hershel's death. I would have been happier if the governor suffered more for all the harm he has caused to others.

Mi ira comenzó a arreciar después de que vi la muerte de Hershel. Hubiera sido más feliz si el gobernador sufrió más por todo el daño que hizo a los demás.

Crticism of the "establishment" political elite intensified as its misdemeaners become more apparent.

La crítica de la élite política de "establecimiento" arreciaron a medida que sus delitos menores se hicieron más evidentes.

Result? Brexit and Trump. ¿Resultado? Brexit y Trump.
