Does this make sense so far?!

English: In the United States, the percentage of people who are pulled over or detained by the police is disproportionately back. Some people believe that this is because African Americans commit crimes more frequently, but this is not true. The history of racism in the United States is long, and prejudice is still common today. The worst prejudice is in police; if they are prejudiced against black people, it can ruin their lives.

If not, what needs work? Any help is much appreciated; gracias!

Your correction.

.-personAS->(femenine plural)SON->paradAS->detenidAS-->negrAS.(better and more polite "de razA negrA").you can choose gente instead personas then it would be.

Because they are not from Africa they are from America. Their origin yes it is.).

-In Spanish we use the verb to have much more than the verb to be with prejuices like to be cold to be hungry.

In both texts I can't see clearly who's life could be ruined by the prejuices. Black people's life.? Police's life?

Please correct my English
