Subjunctive/Mandatos

Subjunctive/Mandatos

I wrote a paragraph about television , but one sentence needed to utilize the subjunctive. The mandato I created was "Vea la television". Does this actually make sense and is it correct?

One other quick question how exactly would I say "go read literature", using the subjunctive.

"Vea la televisión" is the correct formal form. For the informal (tú) form it would be "ve."

For "go read literature." I would use, "Anda, lee literatura." that's the informal form. For formal I would use a different verb. "Vaya, lea literatura."

Both of your examples are demands and require imperative - not subjunctive.

The forms for the polite imperative are taken from the subjunctive forms, though. - Daniela2041, Oct 29, 2016
Ok well since I provided my example can you help me by telling me what I should write differently? Your answer didn't really help. - dknydisdkny, Oct 29, 2016
Dani, I think it´s less confusing to consider that imperative Ud. just happens to have the same conjugation as subjunctive rather it being a subjunctive usage - that´s how we learn it when we learn the language first and after we study grammar - 005faa61, Oct 29, 2016
I did say that the imperative Ud. form just happens to have the same form as the subjunctive. In fact I just copied this from my first comment. - Daniela2041, Oct 29, 2016
