For example in this sentence: Me _______ la fiesta (sorprender)

Would I conjugate sorprender like this as yo: - sorprendi

Or like this as el/ella/uds: - sorprendio

Thanks guys!

I have no idea what you mean by this:

el/ella/uds: - sorprendio

That being said:

The party surprised me, I did not surprise the party:

La fiesta is the subject, me the direct object.

Me sorprendió la fiesta.

Do not forget the accent on the ó, as they did in this picture:

Thanks for the help, I should have thought more carefully! :) It's sorprendio because it's referencing the fiesta. For some reason at the time I thought the "me" was equivalent to a "yo" and I thought I would conjugate it as such. - FireninjaDD, Oct 27, 2016
No. You cold say me sorprendí de la fiesta, I was surprised by the party- but I suspect that may add complexity that you don't need now. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 27, 2016
Yo is subject, me is object, both direct and an indirect, mí object of a preposition, and mi is the possessive. Me will never be a subject, although it can look like it is when it is pronominal/reflexive as I did above.. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 27, 2016
Sorry, typo on could, I typed cold. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 27, 2016
Keep in mind, Spanish is much more accepting of a word order where the subject follows the verb than English is. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 27, 2016
