"Ama" as Used in a Letter

Hello!
I am working on a translation of a letter of a man to his mother, and he starts it with "Ama".
What would the best translation of this be? My love? Mom?

No, actually it's "Amá" which is used by Spanish speakers of many countries. It's a shortened form of "mamá." That's what I call my mom and also my mother-in-law whom I adore.
