What does pos mean?

Greetings I know that POS is a Mexican slang but I forgot what it means. Can I get some help? Thanks

It's a shortened form of "pues."

I would not call "pos" a "shortened form of pues" but rather a sloppy pronunciation of "pues" and it is not slang but a common word that is pronounced correctly by educated people. Daniela´s example of "Simón" is slang when used to indicate "Sí", but it is usually pronounced correctly.

It may be sloppy, it may be wrong, but you hear it in every other sentence in D.F Mexico, even on TV.

The population of DF is almost 9 million / 21 million in DF metro area, naturally many people can be found who speak poorly, including TV people - just like US TV people. My Spanish is from DF and I never use say "pos", only if I immitate Cantinflas - 005faa61, Oct 21, 2016

Not saying you have to use it, but I am saying that it is extremely common. I didn't have to search to find people that speak this way, I was bombarded with it. I am sure however that I do NOT speak perfect English, I just do the best that I can. - Jack-OBrien, Oct 21, 2016

I still believe it's slang and not "sloppy pronunciation." At least that's what my Mexican mother in law tells me. I never heard my parents or any other Spaniards use it, and in the South of Spain the language is a little different than it is in Madrid. - Daniela2041, Oct 21, 2016
