This is from another poem by Luia Pales Matos. "esta el jibaro doblao sobre la tala o el huelto" This is another word whose meaning I couldn't find in Spanish Dict or Google.

As I recall, I've been fortunate so far where if I haven't been able to find a word in Spanish Dict I have been able to find it in Google since I began studying Spanish. - Sassette, Oct 17, 2016

In your profile you say you are fluent in Spanish ? - ray76, Oct 18, 2016
Yes, what does that comment mean? Just because I couldn't figure out the word "huelto" doesn't mean I'm not fluent in Spanish. - donrono, Oct 18, 2016
For a word like "huelto" which is a misspelling on the part of the author, then that something you wouldn't find on google. - donrono, Oct 18, 2016

When I looked in Word Ref. that's what I saw. - rac1, Oct 17, 2016
What is Word Ref? The huerto part makes sense since he's making fun of the jibaro dialect. - donrono, Oct 18, 2016
I googled Word Ref and found out what it is. Thanks for the info. I'll be using it also when Spanish Dict or google fail me. - donrono, Oct 19, 2016

Where did you get that information? Just curious.. - rac1, Oct 17, 2016
That's correct, he's imitating the Puerto Rican jibaro dialect. - donrono, Oct 18, 2016

A couple of days back you asked a similar question for the meaning of "despielta" and Oshnaj suggested it was probably "despierta." Perhaps the "l" for "r" swap is an idiosyncrasy of this particular poet. Another thing to consider is that the poet may be deliberately misspelling these words to represent a way of speaking among a certain culture: "Ya nah wha a mean guvnah?"
