No lo hablaron meaning?

Hello all!

A quick question. Why does, "no lo habla" mean, "he/she/it does not talk about it?" I don't understand where the "about" goes? Because in the long way you would say, "no habla sobre el problema" (for an example,) but where does the "about" go in the sentence? If translating it by using reflexive rules, "no lo habla" should mean, "he/she/it does not talk it," which does not make much sense.

Here sobre stands for about.

So sobre is really the direct object the lo is standing for is the phrase, "sobre el problema"? That's what I was a bit confused about because I thought that lo stands for the noun, "problema" not a prepositional phrase?
