If there is anything you would change, please let me know! I'm hoping that I translated "looks like" correctly, used the subjunctive correctly for gustar because of the unknown and nonexistent house, and that baja was a better word than corta and poca altura.

It looks like I gained a few pounds while looking for a house. I look like I am pregnant. I still have not found a house that I like. So, I decided to live in an apartment near a waterfall. The waterfall is short in height, but still beautiful.

Parece que gané unas pocas libras, mientras que buscando una casa. Luzco como estoy embarazada. Todavía no he encontrado una casa que me guste. Entonces, decidí vivir en un apartamento cerca de una cascada. La cascada es baja, pero aún hermosa.

Thanks in advance!

Here are a few corrections. "mientras buscaba una casa (or even mientras buscando una casa) Note: "una" is optional. Some people would just say "mientras buscaba casa" I prefer the "una"

'Me veo como si estuviera embarazada.

"baja pero hermosa." The "aun" is superfluous, not needed in Spanish.

Your use of the subjunctive is good.

Ramona, to add to the confusion here is how we would say it in Mexico. This is not to say that the other answers are incorrect but that there are various regionalisms available:

Parece que me he subido un poco de peso mientras busco (una) casa. Luzco como si estuviera embarazada. Todavía (aún) no encuentro una casa que me guste, así es que he decidido vivir en un departamento cerca de una cascada, la cual es baja, pero aún hermosa.

Thanks Julian!! All the answers use the the imperfect subjunctive with estuviera embarazada. Why isn't it present tense? - Ramonaspiker, Oct 15, 2016
"... as if I were pregnant" - this is hypothetical, not real so it can not be present tense - 005faa61, Oct 15, 2016
Oh okay. In English we use the present tense. "I look like I'm your sister". "We look like sisters". "I look like a doctor". - Ramonaspiker, Oct 15, 2016
So all the sentences I just said would use imperfect subjunctive? Including sentences like I look like a princess/police/monster/any Halloween costume" - Ramonaspiker, Oct 15, 2016
Of course you could say things like "me parezco embarazada" but this is not hypothetical. it´s a statement of how you really think you appear. It all depends on desired nuance - 005faa61, Oct 16, 2016
Ok. Thank you! - Ramonaspiker, Oct 16, 2016
just always use the imperfect subjunctive after " como si" - BenVP, Oct 16, 2016
