Could I say: Sí, conozco a ella, without the yo before conozco and la before conozco? (Sí, yo la conozco a ella)

The yo can be dropped.

You cannot drop the la.

You do not need the a ella, it is allowable but provides no information.

Here is a nice answer from lazarus that agrees with me. I think everyone who knows of him trusts his answers. it is a ways down in the thread

http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/la-conozco-a-ella.343279/

Conozco a una niña (okay)

Conozco a ella ( wrong)(el C.D. es un pronombre; la duplicación es obligatoria)

La conozco a una niña (Wrong) (duplicación incorrecta)

La conozco a ella (okay) (duplicación forzosa)

Thanks a bunch Bosque! Do you know what C.D stands for? - Ramonaspiker, Oct 6, 2016
Complemento directo would be what I think. Direct object in English I think. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 6, 2016
So if what follows a is a pronoun (like ella), you need the direct object pronoun (la), if what follows is a true noun, you cannot have the direct object pronoun. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 6, 2016
