Progressive tenses always use estar- future, past or present.

Here is our lesson on progressives.

Thanks, bosquederoble. Do you have any idea why progressives aren't included in SD conjugations? - markfilipak, Oct 4, 2016
Because for whatever reason it is not counted as a "real" tense in Spanish. Why perfect tenses are and progressives are not is unknown to me, but that is the norm. :) - bosquederoble, Oct 4, 2016

First of all, while the "future progressive" at least in theory does exist in Spanish, It is not used much by Spanish speakers. We would prefer to use the simple "future" tense or as it is called, "the near future" using "Ir + a + verb."

Even some of the common English uses of the present progressive are not employed.

In English you can things like "I'm leaving for Spain tomorrow." In Spanish you don't do this. you say "I leave for Spain tomorrow" (Salgo para España mañana.)

Secondly what do you mean by "applying?" There are several verbs that are translated by "apply" but they have different meanings.

If you are speaking about "applying" for a job, you would not use the future perfect, nor would you use "aplicar" You could use either the "simple" future or the "ir + a + verb" construction.

Voy a solicitar trabajo/empleo mañana.

Voy a poner una solicitud de empleo mañana.

Solicitaré un trabajo mañana.

Hi Dani! I don't apply for jobs. I'm retired. :) ...How about this: "Aplique la presión en la herida"? - markfilipak, Oct 5, 2016
