"Ser consciente" vs "estar atento"
Hello, I've seen varying answers from dictionaries and grammar books/websites. What is the difference between "ser consciente" and "estar atento". I've seen both described as to be aware but wondering if there is a nuance difference of any kind or if people feel that "estar atento" is to be attentive, which I've also seen, making them not mean the same thing at all. If there are differences could you put a few example sentences? Thanks!

I don't want to disagree with Don because he may be more experienced in Spanish than me (at present I don't know because his profile doesn't say) but I thought that "Ser consciente" described the quality of being conscientious, whereas "Estar consciente" described the state of being conscious of something or just conscious.
"Estar consciente" is when you know about it.
And "Estar atento" is when you expecting, waiting and obviusly you know about it.
Example:
You are conscious that emeny is dangerous and thas way you have to stay alert (atento).
Eeres consciente de que el enemigo es peligroso y esa es la razón por la cual tienes que estar atento.
Ser consciente de tu cuerpo y espiritu( to be conscious of your body & soul or simply the opposite of being passed out). Estar atento en clase(to pay attention in class to be attentive).
