Tener luces para frenar algo
I would like some input on the meaning of this phrase. The context is preventing mining companies from exploiting locals. Here is the sentence: "Mientras más se conoce sobre la empresa y sus dueños, más luces para frenarla." Thank you in advance for your help.

The more one knows about the business, and its owners, the more light on the subject to put the brakes on it. --or stop it.
I don't think the translator could handle this.
