Does one put a capital letter after a ¡ or a ¿ when it's within the sentence.

For example, is it:

a) Sí, ¡Claro que tienes razón!

or

b) Sí, ¡claro que tienes razón!

Why would you capitalize it if it's in the same sentence? You have a comma there, not a period. - rac1, Sep 23, 2016

Sí, ¡claro que tienes razón!

In Mexico we do the same but without the comma (Sí ¡claro que tienes razón!) because the ¡ alone provides the pause.

It's only capitalised when there's a full stop.

  1. Sí, ¡claro que tienes razón! (NOT Sí, ¡Claro que tienes razón!)
  2. Sí. ¡Claro que tienes razón!

It's worth mentioning not to put a full stop at the end of exclamation or interrogative marks:

  • Sí, ¡claro que tienes razón! (NOT Sí, ¡claro que tienes razón!.)
