"I'm going to tell you all a story about my friend." The "you all" part refers to some third grade students. I am a student teacher.

I'm not sure if the distinction needs to be considered like Mexican Spanish. I'd simply say:

  • Voy a contarles una historia de mi amigo(a)/acerca de mi amigo(a).

The you all part is basically a todos ustedes, but instead of saying it, you just use the object pronoun les.
