Rest in Peace ; Wendy ( Jenny o ) ( Wenexx ) Our dear friend and member has passed away.
It is with a heavy heart I have to say that our dear friend Wendy Bakker has lost her fight with cancer. All our prayers go to her husband of over 50 years 'Gerry'.
And our condolences to Gerry and her extensive family and friends.
Friends have told me that she regarded the members
on "spanishdict" and* spanishelp" as her 'Spanish community'which she loved
dearly and gained great comfort help and friendship from.We are all the poorer
for her passing but richer for her years of friendship and love
Farewell dear friend I shall miss you but will never forget you

Wendy was an extraordinary woman , gutsy talented and with an enormous
will to succeed in life , and above all she was a fine human being , very warm
hearted and with a kind word for everyone .She arrived in Australia quite young
met and married her Dutch husband 'Gerry' , they were obviously very much in
love and worked beautifully together .They eventually opened a horse stud in
north eastern Victoria rearing fine racehorses and cattle .Wendy was middle age
when she rode a horse for the first time, it was named 'Jenny' that is why her
first avatar was 'Jennyo' she also used ' Wennex ' . I stayed at their stud for a
while and was able to experience their love and commitment to each other
and to their stock. She is going to be sadly missed at "Lauriston Park" .
I am terribly sorry. In the past I was chatting with her sometimes and she was such a kind and friendly person. My heartfelt condolences to her family.
I'm very sad to hear this. My heart goes out to her family. May she rest in peace.
For those who loved her . . .
Wendy Bakker RIP
Words are not enough when a friend has left us Ray.
Rest In Peace dear one.
Jenny O (Wendy) was a good friend here on SD and often had wonderful connections with her friends here. We will miss her here. She was bright, fun and kind. May her family & friends continue to find comfort in the memories of a wonderful person.
I am so sad to hear that she had lost her long battle. It is hard to loose such a great friend, and even harder to forget them. Cancer is a killer, that takes what it wants slowly, But at-least now she's in a better place without the pain or suffering shes had. "Rest in peace my friend."
I am very sad that we have all lost a dear friend in Jenny!
I only knew her as Jenny, by her Avatar name, on SpanishDict not as Wendy and I did not know her anywhere as well as Ray or others here! I think that I can also remember Heidita first mentioning to us that Jenny was ill, and if I remember correctly, we posted some messages on one of the threads so that Heidita could send Jenny a t shirt with our names and a message printed on them! I am very glad that I, amongst many others here, sent a message of comfort and encouragement to her!
Life is short and we need to remember to take every opportunity to show people that we care when we have the opportunity to do so before it is too late!
My prayers and thoughts are with her husband and family at this very difficult time in their lives! I offer them my heartfelt condolences and hope that they will be able to remember the happy times they all enjoyed together and celebrate Jenny's life at her funeral; while grieving in a healthy way over her loss!!
We will not forget her!
I remember making posts when you were an active member. I remember chats with you. Hope to see you in heaven. Too bad this thread I about to get deleted. Just want to say, we have you in our hearts. Love, Amor y paz :
