Airport Skit
I am doing a skit and I am freaking out in class. I just started Spanish and I'm learning a lot of hard vocabulary words at once.
How do you say "I have a breathing problem" in Spanish?
I thought it was "yo tengo dificultad para respirar " at first but someone told me that the correct translation was "Tengo un problema respiratorio."
I also need help on saying " I understand that you have breathing problems, but the TSA says that Im not allowed to let this device on the plane." in Spanish. I do not know how to put the words in order. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Hi, i want to help you.. "I have a breathing problem" in spanish is "yo tengo dificultad para respirar " (could be that you are having the breathing problem right now, because the sentence is in present) "Tengo un problema respiratorio." (for example asma, a chronic disease.)
" I understand that you have breathing problems, but the TSA says that Im not allowed to let this device on the plane."
"Entiendo que tiene problemas para respirar, pero la administración de seguridad en el transporte (TSA) dice que no estoy autorizado para dejar ese aparato en el avión"
Depende mucho del contexto.
Literally, I have a breathing problem = Tengo un problema de respiración.
It's not 100% idiomatic but I'd use it, as opposed to saying tengo un problema para respirar or tengo un problema respiratorio, I'd use the last one.
You could say:
- Entiendo que tiene problemas respiratorios, pero la AST dice que no se me permite llevar este dispositivo en el avión.
Note that the translation I gave is not literal.
