Sergio jugó/jugaba

Hello

Could you tell me which sentence would be more suitable?

Sergio jugó en las botas azules

o

Sergio jugaba en las botas azules

I want to desrcibe what boots he played in in a football match. For me, it should be the first, because it played in them once and it isn't a habiual situation.

Thanks

Stating a simple fact: "jugó."

If you want to say "He was playing---" then "jugaba."

Both can be used depending on whether you are stating a simple fact or going into some kind of description. I assume you just want to state a simple fact---so "jugó."

I agree with Daniela. In addition, unless there is some mention of "botas azules" in previous sentences, then "las" is not necessary.
