With encantar, gustar and all verbs similar, you always treat each infinitive as a single entity.

Le encanta escribir historias y (le encanta) leer libros.

So it should be in the singular.

There is a difference in opinion with nouns:

Le gustan los perros y el gato

but -

Le gusta (o le gustan) el gato y los perros.

Personally there I use gusta. But someone will be along to disagree.

I think your answer is correct, but as a Spanish native speaker I'd never say "Le gusta el gato y los perros" but "Le gustan los perros y los gatos" or " Le gusta ese gato y ese perro" referring specifically to them... By the way, I love your avatar!! - Benz, Sep 13, 2016
