I wanted to say:

What I have to do, is focus on one thing at a time, remove everything that distracts me, and remain at the same assigned place, until I finish what I set out for myself.

my attempt is this:

Lo que tenga que hacer es concentrarme en una sola cosa a la vez, desterrar todo lo que me distrae, y no dejarse del sitio asignado hasta que termine lo que había propuesto.

You were pretty close on this one.

Lo que tengo que hacer es concentrarme en una sola cosa a la vez, quitar/desechar todo lo que me distraiga, y quedarme en el sitio asignado hasta que termine lo que había propuesto.

I put "distraiga" in the subjunctive, because I was thinkng "all that may distract me" But if you don't see it that way, "distrae" is OK. - Daniela2041, Sep 8, 2016

Tengo que means "I have to or I must" No subjunctive needed. You only put "tener" into the subjunctive as you would any other verb. "Como soy profesora, es necesario que tengA paciencia con los estudiantes. - Daniela2041, Sep 8, 2016
