My 50 or so flashcards disappeared

I created a large set of flashcards but didn't know what to do to make sure they were recorded on your site. I went into the questions & answers, couldn't find the answer, and when I came back, the flashcards were gone.

Please help.

This is so discouraging because this looked like a great site. But I can't begin to remember all the words I'd entered. - portlandiagirl, Aug 31, 2016
Welcome to SpanishDict. I'm sorry that happened to you, but it is as Bosquederoble said. Unless you save your work, and that applies to anything on a computer, and you close the page, you will lose it. - rac1, Aug 31, 2016
SD is a great site. You always need to save your work before exiting the window you are working in. - rac1, Aug 31, 2016

You simply press submit at the bottom of the page to save them. They can be changed later, although you have to watch that the edit button adds five extra spaces each time and you need to delete them unless you use them to add words.

You cannot leave the flashcard creation page while you are working without loosing the information. If you need to do something else, you should open an entirely new window and work in it.

I don't know any way of recovering your work at this point.

Hi Bosque, the best way is to open two windows , then you can leave the one while working on the other , it is easy and brilliant. - ray76, Sep 1, 2016
Yes, that really makes sense, Ray :) - FELIZ77, Sep 1, 2016

I haven't tried making flash cards yet, but thanks to your question, hopefully I will not lose them.

Look on redoing them as good revision or perhaps find a suitable set someone else has done.

Helllo Portandiagirl,

Welcome to our SpanishDict community smile

I am also sorry to hear of your recent experience of losing your work! I have lost work that I wanted to save onto SpanishDict some time ago so I can share (feel) your frustration! .

I would suggest that in future you use a document programme like M.S Word to save important information and then copy and paste the same information into SpanishDict so that your copy on Word will be your 'back up' copy! This should make it much less likely that you will lose any important work you have just created! wink

I hope this helps smile
